Community Education

Does your organization or group support children? Are you looking for consultation or informational presentations to help support the well gross motor development of the children that you work with? My goal is to share reliable pediatric physiotherapy information at a community level in order to empower those working most closely with the children in our community.

I am passionate about health promotion and education- both at an individual + community level. I am excited to offer informational presentations and consultation to organizations that interact with our youngest in the community- with the goal of sharing reliable information about gross motor development with as many community providers as possible. It’s my belief that if the right information and opportunities are provided to as many people as possible-  therapy interactions can be avoided, shortened or optimized.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A physiotherapist is a registered primary healthcare professional who works with children and their families from infancy to young adulthood to promote their health, activity and participation.

  • You don’t need a doctor’s referral to book an appointment but some extended health benefit plans do require a doctor’s note in order to make a claim. It is recommended that you check with your insurance provider prior to booking your initial appointment.

  • Our services are not covered by OHIP. Some options for coverage of services include extended health benefits, Jordan’s Principle, charities and other funding bodies specific to your child’s diagnosis. If you have more questions about this please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  • Your appointment time is reserved just for you. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please notify me as soon as possible to allow another child the opportunity to use this appointment time. Those who provide less than 24 hours notice for cancellations or miss their appointment will be charged a cancellation fee of $60. I do understand how difficult and unpredictable illness can be as a parent- and as such will always offer you the opportunity to switch to a virtual session or telephone call for a late cancellation.

  • All children are required to attend their appointment with a parent/guardian unless previously discussed with your physiotherapist. Additional caregivers, and/or siblings are welcome to attend as well. It is important that those involved in the child’s day to day life are involved in their physiotherapy care!

  • My clinical experience and further training is in the area of developmental pediatrics. As such- acute injuries such as ankle sprains, sports related injuries, fractures, etc would be best serviced by one of the many other amazing physiotherapists in our community. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions about whether I am a good fit for your child and family!
