Everyone deserves to SHINE.

About Jane

I’m a pediatric physiotherapist and the founder and owner of SHINE Pediatric Physiotherapy in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. I hold a Masters in Physiotherapy and have been practicing in pediatric physiotherapy for over 10 years. I have a massive passion for ongoing learning and evidence-informed care and I’m continuously seeking further education to best support the children and families that I work with.

Truly the most rewarding and impactful education I’ve undertaken is becoming a mom myself.  Caring for and raising a child is incredibly rewarding but can also be hard! Information is everywhere and overwhelming. It can be difficult to know when to worry and when not to worry. And it can be difficult to fit physiotherapy programming into a day that is already so busy.

My goal is that you can simply access physiotherapy expertise when you have questions, concerns and goals related to your child’s development. It’s important to me that time is taken to understand your child and family so that physiotherapy care is based on goals that are meaningful to you and that the programming provided can be successfully carried out within your day.

I am committed to continuing education to provide your child with the best care.

Baby + Me Physiotherapy Groups

Are you looking for information to support your baby’s well gross motor development while interacting with other parents?

Have you ever wondered how much time your baby should spend doing floor time? How to make tummy time a positive experience for you and your baby? What floor time should look like at each developmental stage + how to promote the development of their upcoming skills? What baby equipment is better than others + how/what to use to support their development? Are you spending too much time on Dr. Google? Are you looking to connect with other parents?

Baby + Me Physiotherapy Groups are intended to be a welcoming and safe environment where parents and caregivers can interact with their baby, each other and a physiotherapist trained and experienced in the facilitation of gross motor development. During each class the group will be led through a variety of floor positions + activities to promote their upcoming skills and well gross motor development. Each week a portion of the class will be used for educational topics related to your baby’s developmental stage. Each class will for allow for plenty of time for questions + interaction. It is my goal that you leave each group feeling connected + empowered with reliable information to promote your baby’s healthy development!

Community Education

Does your organization or group support children? Are you looking for consultation or informational presentations to help support the well gross motor development of the children that you work with? My goal is to share reliable pediatric physiotherapy information at a community level in order to empower those working most closely with the children in our community.

I am passionate about health promotion and education- both at an individual + community level. I am excited to offer informational presentations and consultation to organizations who interact with our youngest in the community- with the goal of sharing reliable information about gross motor development with as many community providers as possible. It’s my belief that if the right information and opportunities are provided to as many people as possible-  therapy interactions can be avoided, shortened or optimized.
